Daycare to bring majority.

I happen to agree with the editorial in today’s Toronto Sun. If the Liberals et al try to bring down Harper’s gov’t and force an election over the daycare changes, it may well spell a majority gov’t for Harper.

Very simply put, and I think some will agree with me here. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! It’s simple, the Harper was elected with a minority government. We are sick and tired of the squabling and fighting that goes on Parliament Hill. My kids fight less and get along better then most of the fools on the hill (sorry Beatles for the pun).

Harper was elected saying he was changing the daycare system, and I think its a good thing as the current system does discriminate against stay-at-home parents. He won, they didn’t, get over it.

If you don’t, and force an election, watch out for a wipeout ala-Kim Campbell, and it wont be for the Tories this time.

Mr. Harper goes to Afghanistan

Colour me shocked. A sitting Prime Minister, sticking his neck out in the world, and not just for a tan. Harper went to visit the troops in Afghanistan yesterday and not just a fly-by-night either. Bunking with them, breaking bread with them, things that recent Prime Ministers only did in the comforts of Turks and Caicos or Cancun, not Kandihar.

It is about time that politicians started appreciating and showing support for our military.

Care for some cheese, Premier McNutty?

Something tells me that the vineyards from the Niagara have been doing some lobbying on Queen’s Park. How else can you explain what has come from there in the last week:

  • “We’re 40 per cent of the country by way of population and at least 40 per cent by way of contribution to the GDP. But we only have 22 per cent of the Senate seats.”
  • We need more money for education.
  • We more equal than others.

WHINE WHINE WHINE WHINE.

Here’s a thought Mcnutty… Quit bitching and do something constructive. Howabout live up to your promises! Stop blaming others.

I invite everyone (all five of you) to send Mr. McGuinty some cheese. Some nice sharp Ontario-made cheddar. (Personal preference to Forfar myself). Tell the premier what you really think.

How can one be more equal?

When is equal not equal? When you are Dalton McGuinty.

Limiting media access?

Honestly. Can you blame the guy. Here we have someone who, since taking the leadership of the Conservative Party, has been poked, prodded and suspected by every media outlet. Not that I blame the media, it is their job, but reporting needs to be fair and balanced which in my opinion, it has not been. Do I blame Harper for not following the precedents set by Chretien and Martin for media access, or for plugging leaks in the PMO.

To hear journalists such as VanDusen and Martin on CBC complain there are no stories coming out of the PMO to me, is offensive. Work for heaven sakes. Stories are still out there, but they might have to make one or two extra phone calls to get them.

I can name five people who would love to be in their shoes right now working on Parliment Hill as journalists. If its too much guys, go get a transfer to Beijing or something.

Hockey Dad PM

This is a nice change. For years we have been ruled by lawyers and shipping tycoons, its nice to see a hockey dad. Average Joe. Carefull… we might think Harper is a real person and not an evil, secretive person with a hidden agenda… and he doesn’t eat kittens!
