Ottawa’s O-Train line just stupidity
Nevermind that the whole commuter issue is east-west. Stupid. Nevermind that the 417 resembles a parking lot on any given rush hour. Stupid.
Who cares if you can go from Barrhaven to Downtown in 40 minutes on the train. Stupid. I can drive from Barrhaven to Downtown in less than 40 minutes, in traffic. Stupid. How does this get people out of cars? Stupid.
Note the word stupid has been used after every sentence.
Stupid.
Ottawa needs a transit system like Toronto's. Bi-level "GO" cars to connect Carp, Richmond, the Airport and Casselman to Ottawa's Via Station. Then Mayor Bob can have his train set from the Via Station to downtown to provide a spoke and hub system. Will cost the same, and you address all of the issues.
Mayor Bob's idea is just plain stupid.
When did kids become stupid?
Example: I was driving to the post office this afternoon, eight blocks (yes I am polluting and too bad), 10 kids were on bikes, two on the right side of the road, eight on the left. Traffic was moving into the centre of the road to avoid them.
Don't even get me started on Rollerblading assholes either. They think they own the road, the sidewalk and anywhere in-between. Ok now I feel old and sound like Denis Leary.
Perhaps I should put in Cure for Cancer and grab a nice Cuban Cigar.

If there was a time that an Honour Guard should be set up, it is now. PM Harper has shown more interest in the military than Crouton and Martin combined. A 24/7/365 Honour Guard of elite soldiers to watch over those who watched over us sounds like a great idea. Its time we start paying more respect to those who have fought in war for us so we may have the right to do things like... peeing on a grave. Ok bad example.
