New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was recently asked by a Grade 6 student who was running for student council for some advice on how to run a successful candidate. This should be mandatory viewing for ANY candidate in ANY election.

Little story here. In 2006, a candidate for mayor in my municipality came to my door, rang the door bell, talked to me for a few minutes and then asked me for my vote. When I went to the ballot box, I did just that. Why? I didn’t agree with all of his platform, but he was the ONLY person to come to me, and ask for my vote.

Candidates running for election need to remember who marks the ballot to give them the job.

That and lots of colourful posters.
