Two break records for SMSC at meet

nnCORNWALL – Athletes from St. Mary-St. Cecilia took home a series of wins including two breaking track records at the annual intermediate end of season track and field meet at St. Joe’s in Cornwall June 15th.nnAodhan Lowson won the Grade 7 boys 60-metre sprint with a time of 7.426 seconds, breaking the previous track record of 7.428 seconds. Lowson also won in the Grade 7 boys 100-metre and in the relays. He placed second in the shot put event.nnMorgan Byvelds won the Grade 8 girls 100-metre race with a time of 13.05 seconds, breaking the previous record of 13.16 seconds. She also won the 60-metre event and finished second in the 200-metre event.nnThe Grade 7 boys 4×100-metre relay team of Spencer Barclay, Raiden Foote, Drake Wahsquonaikezhik and Lowson finished in first place for the event.nnBarclay brought home first in the Grade 7 softball throw, while Foote finished second in the Grade 7 800-metre race.nnCamrin Connors finished third for the Grade 7 girls Shot Put and 60-metre sprint events while James Szuky was third in the Grade 7 boys running long jump event.nnThe Grade 8 boys 4×100-metre relay team of Nolan Henry, Owen Fetterly, Ben Lapier and Collin Vanhoof took home second in their event.nnLapier and Fetterly finished in first and second respectively in the Grade 8 boys softtball throw event, while Vanhoof was third in the standing long jump.nnIn the Grade 8 boys shot put event, Tyler Barkley finished in first place. Dakota Sheldrick finished third in the running long jump and the 100-metre race event.
