Seaway girls golfers EOSSAA-bound

nnMORRISBURG – The Seaway Spartans girls golf team are heading to the Eastern Ontario championships. The team qualified for EOSSAA September 19th at the high school county championship held at Upper Canada Golf Course.nnAs Seaway was the only school to enter a three-person team, they automatically qualified for the event.nn“There were not a lot of girls entered this year for the tournament,” said Trevor Thompson, coach of the Seaway team and convener for the tournament. “It’s a tough course, but they did well.”nAmber Bailey shot a 98 for the day, leading the Seaway team. Trystan Hummel shot 127 and Chloe Hart 144.nnBailey and Hummel advance to EOSSAA with their scores, joining first overall individual winner, Gabrielle Landriault from La Citadelle. Landriault shot 95 on the course.nThe Seaway team will compete as individuals at EOSSAA September 28th in Casselman.n

Seaway boys team finish 4th

nStudents from 10 area schools competed at the SDG county high school golf championship at Upper Canada Golf Course September 19th, with the boys team from Seaway District high School finishing in fourth place overall.nnGriffin Patterson shot 99, Colin Minish 104 and Curran Gilmour 112, for a team score of 315.nnThe event was the county qualifier for the EOSSAA championship, which takes place September 28th in Casselman. The top two teams, along with the next top two individuals from this event qualify. The lowest three scores on each team were counted as the team score.nnLa Citadelle won the team event with a team score of 243. Glengarry was second with 270. Dylan Levac (86) and Zachery Adams (95) from St. Joe’s were the top two individual golfers to qualify.
