(The Leader/Blancher photo)nnMORRISBURG – Students in Kim MacCormick’s Grade 2 class at Morrisburg Public School received a special delivery from Canadian Forces Base Kingston December 11th.nnThe students wrote letters to soldiers as part of a Remembrance Day project in November. Those letters were then sent to the base for soldiers.nn“We received the letters and I handed them out to members at the base,” said Chief Warrant Officers Jeff Aman. Aman is the Base Chief Warrant Officer for CFB Kingston.nnThe soldiers from the base that received the letters all wrote replies to the students.nn“It’s great that these young Canadians did this,” said Aman. “It’s important for the soldiers to know that people are thinking of them.”nnSoldiers thank MPS students – Students in the Grade 2 class at Morrisburg Public School received a special delivery from soldiers at CFB Kingston December 11th. He has been posted in Kingston for the past two years and has been in the Forces for 30 years. Before the reply letters were given out, the students had some questions for Aman.nn“Did you ever go to war,” asked student Tarrin Marshall.nnAman replied that he had served in the first Gulf War, Bosnia, Kosovo and Afghanistan.nnOther questions asked included about what Aman does in the Forces, his uniform, and if he had ever driven a tank.nn“I didn’t think they would reply back,” said Mason MacNeil as he was reading his letter at his desk. “I just wanted to thank them for keeping us safe.”nnAman said that this was the first time that they had received letters from Morrisburg Public.nn“The soldiers really appreciate you took the time out of your day to write to them,” Aman said. “You are really good young Canadians.”
