Neighbouring municipalities see large numbers of candidates

MORRISBURG – Several election battles are taking place in South Dundas’ neighbouring municipalities.nnIn Edwardsburgh-Cardinal, three are vying for the mayor’s chair. Incumbent mayor Pat Sayeau faces challengers David Dobbie and Philip Parent.nnDwane Crawford and Tory Deschamps are running for deputy-mayor.nnA total of eight candidates are running for the three wards in that township.nnNorth Dundas will have a new mayor as two-term mayor Eric Duncan did not run for re-election.nnCurrent deputy-mayor Gerry Boyce is running against councillor Tony Fraser to replace Duncan.nnAllan Armstrong is running against Brad Pinch for the deputy-mayor position.nnSeven are running for the three council seats, elected at large.nnSouth Stormont has a three-way race for mayor, with current deputy-mayor Tammy Hart, former mayor Bryan McGillis, and newcomer Christopher Bonneville nominated.nnCurrent councillors David Smith and Richard Waldorf are in the running for the deputy-mayor position, while nine are running for the three available council seats.nnMunicipal voters across the province go to the polls October 22nd.
