DIGBY, NS – The Ontario Provincial Police have charged a former South Dundas resident following an investigation of a suspicious death more than two and a half years ago.nnOn February 6, 2016, officers with the Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry OPP detachment, and SDG paramedic services responded to a 9-1-1 call at a residence on Chess Road in South Dundas, about 10 kilometres north of Iroquois.nnFirst responders discovered 67-year-old Edward Robert Allen in medical distress inside the home. He died shortly after from his injuries.nnMembers of SDG crime unit, led by detective-inspector Dan Nadeau of the criminal investigation branch undertook a lengthy investigation of the death.nnAs a result of the investigation, OPP charged 58-year-old Beverly Rose Thomas of Digby, Nova Scotia with first degree murder in the death of Allen.nnThomas will be transported to Ontario and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall September 28th.nnIn a release to the media, the OPP acknowledged the Halifax Regional Police Service and RCMP in Digby for their respective support and assistance with the investigation.
