Rangers crash Jets, extinguish Inferno

nnCARDINAL – Two more games, two more wins for the league-leading South Grenville Rangers. The team took on the Metcalfe Jets at home in Cardinal November 9th and visited the West Carleton Inferno November 10th.nnJordan Dodge scored his 14th goal of the season, just 39 seconds into the game (from Brody Ranger) to put South Grenville on the scoreboard 1-0.nnThe Rangers led the Jets through to the middle of the second period, until Metcalfe forward Alexandre Clouthier found his way past South Grenville goalie Xavier Dusablon to tie the game 1-1.nnThe Rangers broke the deadlock early in the third period when Cameron Dillon (from Matthew Berry and Jacob Servage) scored the go-ahead goal on a South Grenville power play to take a 2-1 lead. Less than a minute later, Kyle Dillabough (from Dylan Sharpley and Joe MacLean) added to the pile of goals for the Rangers.nnCooper Kingston (from Servage and Berry) sent the puck over the shoulder of Jets goalie Jett Miller for the fourth goal of the game. Matthew O’Brien added a short-handed goal late in the period to seal the Jets’ fate. Rangers crashed the Jets 5-1.nnThe Rangers met the Inferno the following day, resulting in a 6-0 shut out win for South Grenville.nnSharpley (from Brayden Forestell and Ranger) put the Rangers on the scoreboard late in the first period. Then Servage went on a rip scoring a natural hat trick beginning in the second period.nnFive minutes into the second period, Servage (from Jared Fenlong and Kingston) began his tear with a power play goal. Late in the period Servage (from Berry and Kingston) added his second of the game. Rangers led the Inferno 3-0.nnEight minutes into the third period, Servage (from O’Brien and Fenlong) completed his hat trick. Then Berry and Forestell each scored a goal of their own in the 6-0 shut out win. Goalie Sam Limoges-Ring netted his first shut out of the season.nnThe Rangers host the Inferno in Cardinal November 16th, and visit the Clarence Castors November 17th.
