Over $5K raised in local virtual Terry Fox Run

nnMORRISBURG – It wasn’t the ideal circumstances, but this year’s Terry Fox Run in Morrisburg still did well according to organizer Scott Robinson.nn“We raised $5,010,” Robinson told The Leader.nnThe annual event usually draws dozens of runners to the Morrisburg Waterfront to run, walk, or cycle for Terry. This year, because of COVID-19, the event shifted to an online virtual event with the theme of “One day, your way.”nnEven with the virtual and distanced nature of the Terry Fox Run this year, Robinson called the fundraising efforts “a great success.”nnThe amount raised this year does not include local schools which are holding their own events, physically distanced, on September 30th.nn“Thanks to all the great Terry Fox supporters,” Robinson said. “Hopefully we can get together next year.”nnMoney raised through the annual Terry Fox Run supports the innovative cancer research initiatives of the Terry Fox Foundation. 2020 marked the 40th anniversary of Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope
