As much as I look forward to this “once-in-a-lifetime” solar eclipse, I can’t wait until it is over. As I have written about here and elsewhere the hype and noise about this event continues to annoy. I’m looking forward to Monday after 4:15 p.m. when it is done and all I have to do is process photos.
Is it over yet can apply to many things this week. A freak snow storm after warm weather dumped six inches or more of snow. That can be over. A story I have been following since 2017 was to wrap up this week, but the snow delayed things and that means another week before its conclusion. That can be over.
For almost a month I’ve had this persistent cough that is finally starting to go away. That too can be over. And there are just over 80 days until our youngest child graduates high school. That one I want to be over because I am tired of dealing with the public education system. I also don’t want it finished because it is another sign that I am getting old.
Three Things!
Something to watch… This is a clip from an actors roundtable two years ago. Robert DeNiro’s words weren’t what hit, it was Tom Hanks’ “This too shall pass.”
Something to listen to… Kenny Chesney’s new single This Too Shall Pass.
Something to read… The Daily Stoic by Ryan Holiday – This book is on my reading pile and relates to the other two things in this post. (Link goes to Amazon and I earn a fee if you buy. Please buy.)
Last word… You don’t know how fast time passes, until you look back.
