Cross-country team results for Seaway

Athletes from Seaway District Intermediate School (SDIS) and Seaway District High School (SDHS) took part in the annual Pirate Run invitational cross-country race on September 23rd at Thousand Island Secondary School in Brockville.

n There were 31 schools from across Eastern Ontario competing at the event in several race categories.

n From the SDHS team, Abby Jordan placed 8th overall in the senior girls 4.9 kilometre race with a time of 21:07:36. Keira Cameron placed 19th in the junior girls 4.1 kilometre race with a time of 19:14:92. Regan Belanger ran in the midget girls 3.5 kilometre race with a time of 17:30:31 for 27th in her field. Theo Blancher competed in the 4.9 kilometre midget boys event placing 54th with a time of 24:28:42.

n From SDIS, Brooke Hamlin placed 10th in the 3.5 kilometre Grade 8 girls event with a time of 12:55:60. Adam Tibben’s time of 11:38:36 was good for 16th place in the Grade 8 boys 3.5 kilometre race. Olivia Mudde placed 30th for the Grade 7 girls 3.5 kilometre race with a time of 14:28:44, while Colin Verbruggan placed 20th in the Grade 7 boys event with 12:29:99.

n The SDIS cross-country team travelled to the Greys Creek cross-country meet in Cornwall on September 25, results were not available at press time.
